Greedy and Immoral Management

Does a bully in your company have the
unwavering support of top management?

Profits over people
An effective bully exploits others on his way to expanding business and profits. If a bully rings the cash register, management will usually turn a blind eye to his abuses. Although they won't admit it, management is effectively saying "profits over people".
Long-term failure
A bully typically only increases profits in the short term. In the long term, low morale and high turnover will hurt profits. In addition, a bully's greed and manipulation creates other major problems for the company, such as angry clients or extreme turmoil in the management ranks. A successful bully will often precipitate the sale or bankruptcy of a company, or breaking up of a partnership.

Ultimately, management and owners will suffer from their decision to allow a bully to have his way. But in the short term, greedy and immoral management will typically allow a bully to intimidate and manipulate his fellow employees.

Six Signs that Management Encourages Bullying
1. Management treats profits as the only meaningful priority
2. Management is remote from employees
3. Management honors and rewards bullying behaviors
4. Bully is part of management "club"
5. Management creates false appearance of dealing with a bully
6. Management tries to appease a bully
