A bully is obsessed with how things appear to others. He believes his image is more important than reality.

Because the truth about him is ugly, he creates an image that distorts or conceals reality. He disguises his true emotions and desires.

A bully likes to suggest that your actions have hurt his image. Alternatively, he says that your proposed actions will hurt your own image.
