A Bully is Very Ambitious

A bully is highly ambitious and power hungry.

Highly ambitious
- He is highly focused on financial gain, to the point of avarice

- He is highly focused on his own success

- He wants more power and prestige

- He displays zeal in pursuit of his own goals

- He only gives lip service to the company's goals

- He uses the company's goals as an excuse to aggressively pursue his own selfish goals
A bully tries to gain power over his peers
- He is always seeking to add to his power base

- He entices peers into his department

- He tries to get peers assigned to project he controls

- He promises an equal role to peers, but makes them subordinate

- He seeks to be on committees that set rules and direction for the company
A bully colors the perceptions of top management
- He makes himself look good to top management

- He makes you look bad to top management

- He manipulates top management into assigning peers to his projects

- He helps set the company's vision by promising big profits
A bully maximizes his control of company resources
(Company resources include staffing, work assignments, budgets, outside consultants, time, supplies, honors and awards, special benefits and other perks, attention from upper management)
- He prevents you from getting enough company resources

- He pre-empts company resources by taking them in advance

- He shifts company resources to his projects by claiming higher priority

- He shifts company resources to members of his power base

- He entices the best people in the company to transfer to his department
A bully exploits his subordinates to outshine his peers
- He manipulates his subordinates into working long hours

- He takes credit for motivating subordinates to extreme sacrifices

- He downplays the high rate of turnover in his department

- He ignores the overall impact of low morale on the company
